13th November-4th December: ‘Zan’it al-Sittat’ exhibition by Huda Lutfi
to be held at The Third Line.  The exhibition title, Zan’it al-Sittat, refers to a market place in Alexandria, Egypt where women are found in large numbers - the phrase is literally translated to ‘the space where women are squeezed together’. Lutfi’s work revisits the passing of time and plays with objects - old statues, plastic dolls, broken chair legs and crystals from broken chandeliers - by reinventing their cultural identity, and thus reconstructing her personal image of Cairo.
