Dates for your diary
If tea is, well, your cup of tea, then a major event in Sharjah will definitely be… to your liking. Tea World, being held at Qanat al Qasba, brings together a blend of teas from across the globe, along with fantastic entertainment and educational events.
Bringing alive the long history of tea, Tea World brings together delicious brands from around the world for visitors to taste. A tea museum will be a central focus of the event with displays of pictures and information about the history of tea and its processing. The displays will also include the materials used to brew and serve tea including interesting artifacts like tea chests and tea cosies.
Visitors can also get hands-on experience with the various workshops that will be conducted for families and children including the Japanese Tea Ceremony, Tea Tasting sessions, the making of Indian clay teacups and Chinese pottery painting.
The event will come alive with many entertainment activities that will be thematically divided to represent the four main regions of Tea World – Western, Far East, Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent. With balloon benders, clowns and face painters on hand to entertain the children, the Tanoura Dancers, Japanese Dancers, the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party Parade and the Indian dance troupe will amaze the whole family.
Besides the special Tea World activities, visitors can also enjoy the daily happenings at Qanat Al Qasba including savouring the ware from some of the best dining destinations in Sharjah, an Abra ride under the stars and a ride in the Eye of the Emirates, the tallest observatory wheel in the region.
Tea World is at Qanat Al Qasba until January 5, from 5pm until midnight daily.
