A window on to art
Dubai’s Total Arts Gallery is this month highlighting the work of Iyad Almosawi, one of a new generation of Iraqi artists.
An exhibition of Almosawi’s recent paintings, entitled Window Frames, takes place at the gallery between May 12 and 24.
Almosawi (pictured) was born in Iraq but grew up in Kuwait, later studying art in Canada. His work uses strong contrasting colours and is considerably influenced by Arabic architecture.
The gallery is open 10am-1pm and 4pm-8pm Saturday to Thursday, and is closed Fridays. For more information, ring 347 5050 or visit http://www.courtyard-uae.com
